What do you know?

How we calculate it

  1. Replies (Meta calls them service messages) are any normal message you send within 24 hours of a customer writing to you.
  2. Each WhatsApp number gets 1,000 free replies every month. We take those off first.
  3. Every reply after that costs the rate for your customer's country.
  4. Marketing messages (campaigns, offers) are charged from the first one.
  5. Order confirmations and login codes cost the same as a reply in these countries.

Common questions

Is this calculator free?

Yes. No sign-up. It only estimates what Meta charges for WhatsApp messages, not any software you use with it.

Does it count the 1,000 free messages?

Yes. Meta gives each WhatsApp Business number 1,000 free service messages (replies) a month. The calculator takes them off before charging.

What is a chat versus a message?

A chat is one conversation with a customer. A message is each reply you send in it. Meta charges per message, so a chat with 4 replies counts as 4 messages.

Which country's price applies?

Your customer's country, based on their phone number's country code. A Saudi business replying to a UAE number pays the UAE rate.

How accurate is it?

It uses Meta's official published rates. Your real bill can be lower if some chats come from click-to-WhatsApp ads, which are free for up to 7 days.
